FAQ's About Our St Patrick Cross Sewn Flagpole Flag

Is this sewn St Patrick Flag suitable for permanent outdoor use?

Yes. Our St Patrick sewn flags are manufactured from durable woven polyester and are designed for regular outdoor flying on flagpoles.

What is the difference between a sewn and printed St Patrick flag?

A sewn St Patrick flag uses stitched construction and heavier-duty materials, providing improved durability and a premium appearance. Printed flags are generally lighter and more suitable for occasional use.

How should I look after my flag?

To clean your woven polyester sewn flag, gently hand wash it in lukewarm water using a mild detergent, or machine wash on a gentle cycle at a maximum temperature of 30°C. Avoid using bleach, fabric conditioners or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the fabric and stitching. Rinse thoroughly and allow the flag to air dry naturally before re-hoisting or storing. Do not tumble dry, and if ironing is required, use a cool iron on the reverse side. Always ensure the flag is completely dry before storage and, for maximum lifespan, lower the flag during severe weather and inspect it regularly for signs of wear.

How Long Will A Sewn St Patrick Flag Last?

The lifespan of a sewn St Patrick flag depends largely on its location and exposure to the weather. In sheltered inland locations, a high-quality woven polyester sewn flag can provide many months or even years of service, whereas flags flown in coastal areas or exposed high-wind sites will experience greater wear due to increased wind loading, salt air and harsher weather conditions.

For locations subject to frequent strong winds, we recommend selecting our optional antifray netting, which helps reduce stress on the fly edge and can extend the working life of the flag. To maximise longevity, flags should be lowered during severe weather conditions and inspected regularly for signs of wear. As with all outdoor textiles, no flag will last indefinitely, but choosing a premium sewn St Patrick and following good flag care practices will help achieve the longest possible service life.
